How false memories of crimes may occur in police investigations

California residents may need to know that some interview techniques could potentially lead to false convictions in criminal matters. A study published in "Psychological Science" illustrated that adults were able to internalize and believe fictional stories about committing a crime.

California police detain 2 for alleged burglary

Officers with the San Jose Police Department detained two men for attempting to burglarize a home in an upscale residential area on Jan. 9. According to sources, neighbors called the police after spotting the men attempting to break into a house located on Bentley Ridge Drive.

Man charged for drunk driving after rolling down embankment

On Jan. 4, a California man was accused of driving drunk after he was involved in an accident on Highway 101. The alleged drunk driving incident took place in the southern region of the San Jose city limits while the accused driver was traveling southbound on Highway 101 in a 2002 Honda Accord. Shortly before 10:15 a.m., the 19-year-old man struck a 2011 Lexus E350 near Bailey Avenue while he was allegedly making an unsafe lane change.

Man allegedly steals Rose Bowl golf cart, arrested for DUI

Authorities with the California Highway Patrol detained a 19-year-old man in Pasadena on Jan. 1 following the Rose Bowl football game. Reportedly, troopers responded after receiving a 911 call about a golf cart driving along eastbound on the 210 Freeway. According to police, a second call was then made to report that the cart exited the highway at Hill Street.
