Alameda Police up DUI patrols through Labor Day

People in Alameda County and the surrounding areas like to kick back on their weekends off. On holiday weekends, many people get together with friends and family to eat food and have some drinks. As Labor Day approaches, however, make sure to watch your alcohol intake or have a sober ride home because Alameda police are in the middle of a crackdown on drunk driving.

Alameda County man responds to assault charges: not guilty

Bay Area authorities take any criminal instances very seriously. However, when violent crimes are involved, the stakes can be much higher for the accused individual. Recently, a former champion body builder who now lives outside Livermore in Alameda County pleaded not guilty to charges of assault with a deadly weapon and making criminal threats.

DA says not enough evidence to prove rape against Alameda deputy

Our justice system exists to ensure that those who have been accused of a crime get a fair trial at which they can present evidence to defend themselves. Prosecutors are held to a high standard of having to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that someone is guilty of committing a crime. If that burden of proof cannot be met, the defendant cannot be found guilty. Our justice system recently held true when rape charges against an Alameda County Sheriff's deputy were dropped.
