Man charged with killing 2 men outside bar

A California man has been arrested for a shooting that left two men dead outside a San Bernardino bar on April 2. The incident took place around 7:30 p.m.

According to San Bernardino police, the victims and the shooting suspect became involved in an altercation while inside the Sports Page bar on East Lynwood Drive. The fight then spilled into the bar's parking lot, where the suspect shot the two victims. The victims, a 45-year-old Bloomington resident and a 43-year-old San Bernardino resident, were transported to a local hospital. They were later pronounced dead.

The suspect, a 35-year-old Joshua Tree resident, fled the scene of the crime on his motorcycle. He turned himself in later the same night. He was taken into custody and charged with two counts of murder. He is being held without bail at a Rancho Cucamonga detention facility. All three men were allegedly members of an outlaw biker gang known as the Vagos Motorcycle Club.

Individuals convicted of murder charges in California face severe penalties, including life in prison without the possibility of parole and in some cases the death penalty. However, every defendant is innocent until proven guilty and has the right to vigorously fight the allegations in court with the help of a criminal defense attorney. An attorney could develop a number of strong defense strategies based on the circumstances of the case. For example, the police may have arrested the wrong person for the crime. It is also possible the defendant was acting in self-defense or the defense of another when the alleged murder took place.
